Educational Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or Library Science from a recognized University or Institution.
• Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Rules is mandatory.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required.
• Candidate must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per Gujarat Civil Services rules.
• Candidates without a computer certificate can apply but must submit the certificate before appointment.

Age Limit (as on 30 December 2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years.
• Maximum Age (Library Clerk): 35 Years.
• Maximum Age (Assistant Librarian): 36 Years.

• Library Clerk, Class-3: First 5 Years – Rs. 26,000/- per month (Fixed Pay); After 5 Years – Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 63,200/- (Level-2, 7th Pay Commission).
• Assistant Librarian, Class-3: First 5 Years – Rs. 26,000/- per month (Fixed Pay); After 5 Years – Rs. 25,500/- to Rs. 81,100/- (Level-4, 7th Pay Commission).
• Other allowances and benefits will be applicable as per Government resolutions.
