Additionally, there were two munsifs, one each at Hazaribagh and Giridih, and a sub-divisional officer munsif at Chatra. The additional workload was managed through the appointment of additional munsifs. Civil suits were classified based on value, according to which different judicial officers were appointed.

Before the establishment of the judgeship, criminal justice was overseen by the judicial commissioner, deputy commissioner, and various magistrates. In criminal cases, it comprised a sessions judge, assistant sessions judge, deputy commissioner, and several magistrates. It is worth noting that the burden of cases under the Motor Vehicles Act was quite high due to accidents on hilly roads.
