Koraput District Court Jobs 30/04/2024: Koraput district was established along with other districts on 01.04.1936, during the formation of the State of Odisha. It is located in the southern part of Odisha. Jeypore, situated about 22 kilometers from Koraput, is one of the largest towns in the district. Previously known as Joypor, it signifies “the city of victory” in ancient times. Before the establishment of formal courts, the Maharaja of Jeypore administered justice with the assistance of a group of intellectuals.
Mr. Anantaram Guru, B.L., served as the first District Judge of the undivided Koraput district in Jeypore. The Honorable Mr. Justice B.K. Roy, Chief Justice of the High Court of Orissa, inaugurated the current building of the District & Sessions Court in Jeypore.
The Permanent Lok Adalat, under the supervision of the District Legal Service Authority, operates in Jeypore. The Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre, inaugurated by the Honorable Mr. Justice B.K. Misra, Judge of the Orissa High Court, Cuttack, has been operational since 21.04.2013 in Jeypore.
