Educational Qualifications

• Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with registration in State/National Medical Register.
• Postgraduate qualification recognized by NMC such as MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB or equivalent.
• For non-medical posts: Doctorate degree from a recognized university.
• Department-specific qualifications as mentioned in the official notification.

Experience Requirements

• Professor: 13 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or 10 years after DM/MCh.
• Associate Professor: 06 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or 03 years after DM/MCh.
• Assistant Professor: 03 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or Nil experience after DM/MCh.
• Additional research publications and completion of Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) as applicable.

Age Limit (as on 12 February 2026)

• Professor: No upper age limit (retirement age 65 years, re-employment up to 70 years possible).
• Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: Maximum 50 Years.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 05 Years, OBC – 03 Years, PwBD – 05 Years as per rules.
