DGQA Kanpur Technician Vacancy Details 2026
The total 32 vacancies are distributed between two main technician posts as follows:
- Technician (Skilled): 11 Posts (UR: 8, OBC: 1, SC: 1, EWS: 1)

DGQA Kanpur Technician Educational Qualification 2026
Candidates must fulfill the following educational criteria to be eligible:
- Must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or equivalent from a recognized education board.
- Must have an ITI Pass Certificate in the relevant trade or equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course.
- Eligible trades include Fitter, Electrician, Carpenter, Welder, Machinist, Turner, Book Binder, Plumber, Painter, COPA (Computer Operator), and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic.

The age limit will be calculated on the closing date of application:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age for UR / EWS: 27 Years
- Maximum Age for OBC: 30 Years (3 years age relaxation)
- Maximum Age for SC / ST: 32 Years (5 years age relaxation)
- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen and Central Government employees will be applicable as per central government rules.
DGQA Kanpur Technician Salary 2026
Selected candidates will receive monthly pay according to the 7th Central Pay Commission rules:
- Technician (Skilled): Pay Matrix Level-2 (₹19,900 to ₹63,200/- per month).
- Technician (Semi Skilled): Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000 to ₹56,900/- per month).
- In addition to basic pay, employees will get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per government norms. There is a probation period of two years.
DGQA Kanpur Technician Selection Process 2026
The selection will be done based on the following tests:
- Written Examination: An objective test of 60 marks with 60 questions to be solved in 60 minutes. The paper covers General Awareness (10 questions), English (10 questions), Reasoning (10 questions), and Trade-specific questions (30 questions).
- Trade / Skill Test: Candidates who pass the written exam will be called for a practical trade test to check their working skills.
- Document Verification & Medical Test: Final selection will be confirmed after checking all original certificates and medical fitness.

This is an offline application process. Follow these simple steps to submit your form:
- Step 1: Take a clean printout of the prescribed application form and admit card format published in the official notification.
- Step 2: Fill in all details neatly using a blue or black pen in capital letters.
- Step 3: Paste your recent passport-size colored photo on the form and sign across it.
- Step 4: Attach self-attested photocopies of your 10th marksheet, ITI certificate, caste certificate, Aadhaar card, and experience letters (if any).
- Step 5: Enclose two self-addressed envelopes (size 25 cm x 10 cm) with a postal stamp of ₹45/- pasted on them, along with two extra passport-size photos.
