DTU Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualification norms as per AICTE and UGC guidelines:
- Engineering & Technology Disciplines: B.E. / B.Tech and M.E. / M.Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in either of the degrees. Ph.D. in the relevant discipline is highly desirable and awarded points during screening.
- Sciences, Humanities & Management Disciplines: Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from a recognized university. A 5% relaxation (minimum 50% marks) is provided for SC, ST, OBC (NCL-Delhi), and PwBD candidates. Additionally, candidates must have cleared UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET/SET, or hold a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC regulations.
- OBC Reservation Note: Only OBC candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) recognized by the Government of NCT of Delhi are eligible for reservation benefits under the OBC category. OBC candidates from other states will be considered under the Unreserved (UR) category.
DTU Assistant Professor Screening and Selection Process 2026
The selection follows a comprehensive merit-based assessment system:
- Stage 1 (Initial Screening – 100 Score Scale): Applications will be screened based on a 100-point scale comprising:
- Pre-Ph.D. Degree Marks: Up to 60 Points (Formula: 35 + 0.5 × [X – 50], where X is the percentage)
- Ph.D. Degree: 30 Points
- National Level Test Qualification (NET-JRF / GATE / CEED / GPAT): Up to 10 Points
- Consideration Zone: Shortlisted candidates in the consideration zone (up to 4 + 8X candidates per vacancy) will be notified to submit physical printouts and self-attested documents for Document & Point Mark Verification.
- Stage 2 (Teaching Presentation): Verified candidates will give a seminar presentation before a committee to evaluate their teaching aptitude and pedagogy.
- Stage 3 (Personal Interview): Performance in the personal interview before the Selection Committee to evaluate domain knowledge, research background, and academic vision.
