The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), a statutory institute established under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has published an official recruitment notification (Advt. No.: 03/Estt./NIFT-HO/2026-27). Applications are invited from eligible and experienced officers for appointment to high-level administrative posts on a deputation basis, including Registrar, Director (Head Office), Director (Finance & Accounts), and Campus Directors.

Through this recruitment drive, NIFT aims to fill 19 vacancies across its Head Office in New Delhi and 16 operational campuses throughout India in Pay Level 13 under the 7th Central Pay Commission. A total of 19 positions under Pay Level 13 are available across the Head Office in New Delhi and 16 NIFT campuses across India:

NIFT Deputation Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit 2026

Applicants must satisfy the eligibility conditions laid down in the recruitment circular as on November 20, 2026:

• Maximum Age Limit: The upper age limit for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of application receipt.
• Deputation Tenure: The period of deputation will be strictly for three (03) years. The tenure will not be extended further.
• Registrar: Regular officers of Central/State Government, UT, Autonomous Organizations, or PSUs holding analogous posts on a regular basis with administrative, establishment, or academic experience.
• Director (Head Office): Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis with relevant work experience in administration, establishment, admissions, or academic governance.
• Director (Finance & Accounts): Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis with hands-on experience in financial management, accounting, and government audit systems.
• Campus Director: Regular officers of Central/State Govt., UT, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies holding analogous posts on a regular basis with at least 2 years of experience at the level of Director to the Government of India (or equivalent) in administration, admissions, establishment, or academic affairs.
• Ineligibility Clause: Officers who are already serving on deputation elsewhere are not eligible to apply. Ad-hoc, contractual, or consultant service will not be counted toward experience.

NIFT Selection Process 2026

The selection will be conducted based on the evaluation of service records and performance in a Personal Interview / Interaction conducted by the NIFT Selection Committee. The interview may take place in online or offline mode, and date details will be communicated via email only to shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.

Documents Required for Application

The application packet must be forwarded through the proper channel along with the following mandatory certificates:

• Prescribed Application Proforma (Annexure-I) with self-attested photograph
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) not exceeding 1000 words
• Integrity Certificate in original (Annexure-II) signed by an officer of Deputy Secretary rank or above
• No Penalty Certificate for the last 10 years in original (Annexure-III)
• Vigilance Clearance Certificate in original (Annexure-IV)
• Cadre Clearance Certificate in original (Annexure-V)
• Attested photocopies of APARs / ACRs for the last five years (2020-21 to 2024-25), with each page attested by an officer not below Under Secretary rank
• Self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience, and Matriculation certificate for age proof

• Visit the official website of NIFT at nift.ac.in and download the official notification (Advt. No. 03/Estt./NIFT-HO/2026-27) along with the application proforma (Annexure-I to VI).
• Fill out the bio-data form neatly with full employment history, current pay level, and three campus preferences (if applying for Campus Director).
• Draft and attach the Statement of Purpose (SOP) answering why you wish to join NIFT, how you bring value, and your defining professional experiences.
• Attach self-attested copies of all educational degrees, experience documents, and date of birth proof.
• Submit the complete dossier to your parent department or cadre-controlling authority so that it is certified with Vigilance, Integrity, and Cadre Clearance along with the last 5 years’ APARs.
